Ushers

Ushers distribute bulletins before and during the service and help seat people efficiently and comfortably. They serve other functions as well. At St. Mary’s we use the passing of the offering plates as an opportunity to share our gratitude to God with His church, and the ushers take the gathered contributions to the altar along with the bread and wine as part of the “oblations.”

Ushers also help with the procession of the congregation to the altar rail to receive the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, and their return to their seats.
