Serving at St. Mary's
Acolytes
Acolytes of all ages serve in processions and at the altar during worship. With training, they take on roles such as crucifers (cross-bearers), torch bearers, Gospel bearers, and Eucharistic servers, progressing to greater responsibilities over time.

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares the church for worship by caring for sacred vessels, candles, linens, bread, and wine. They also arrange flowers to beautify the sanctuary. This behind-the-scenes ministry is deeply meaningful and essential to our worship. If you feel called to serve in this way, we'd love to have you join us!

Choir
Music is a vital part of worship at St. Mary's. Our all-volunteer choir leads the congregation in song during the 10:30 a.m. service, guided by our Organist and Chior Director, Tina McGready. Some members have extensive musical backgrounds, while others simply love to sing.
Our music ministry is enhanced by instrumental accompaniment, including professional and amateur musicians. Hymns, anthems, and service music are thoughtfully chosen and prepared each week, creating a meaningful worship experience.
New members are always welcome! If you're interested in joining, contact Tina or our rector.

Coffee Hour
Fellowship is an essential part of our church life. After Sunday services, we gather for coffee and light refreshments, offering a time to connect with friends, meet new members, and reflect on the worship service.
Hosting is simple and shared—volunteers take turns providing refreshments, ensuring no one serves too often. Whether you bring a homemade treat or simply set out snacks, your contribution is appreciated!

Schedule:
- First Sunday of the month—After 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services
- Third and Fifth Sunday of the month—After the 10:30 a.m. service only
Lectors & Lay Worship Leaders
Many members participate in worship by reading Scripture, Psalms, and leading the Prayers of the People. This ministry is open to all after a brief training session, and participants serve on a rotating basis.
Some members also receive Diocesan training as Lay Worship Leaders, allowing them to lead services such as Morning and Evening Prayer.

Oblationers
During the Holy Eucharist, oblationers (or Oblation-bearers) bring the bread, wine, and offering plates to the altar on behalf of the congregation.
This role is open to individuals, families, or any members representing the "people of God" in the service.
Ushers
Ushers provide a warm welcome to worshippers, distribute bulletines, and assist with seating. During the service, they:

Collect the offering and bring it forward with the bread and wine

Guide congregants to receive Holy Communion

Ensure a smooth flow of the service
Ushers play a key role in creating a hospitable and orderly worship experience.
